Approaching Situations
What does it mean to approach, react, and handle situations? Is this something we think about or is it something that we hand over to God?
A few years ago, I had been notified that someone was not really talking the nicest about me. In this moment, I thanked the person for letting me know. In my quiet time with the Lord, I remember talking to the Lord and simply saying: “Lord I give this to you.” Within the hour the person who was not speaking nicest about me apologized and stated that they were going through something and not thinking straight. I forgave the person and moved on.
From this moment on, every time I am in a situation of any size, I simply pray. I know that I must give this situation to the Lord. I want the Lord to help guide my path and help me to make the right choices. I don’t want to just react and handle every situation the same. I don’t even want to think, “Oh, this is happening to me again.” I pray that the Lord will help me handle, approach, and react to situations differently. With the Lord on my side, I know I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
Next time you may find yourself in a situation hand it over to the Lord and listen. The Lord will show you what to do.
