The Acolyte Review

So, last night I got to see the first two episodes of the Star Wars original Disney+ show, “The Acolyte,” in theaters at AMC in Dolby. It was definitely a great experience. I had always wanted to see one of these Disney+ Star Wars shows in theaters, so getting to see “The Acolyte” specifically, which I know has had a lot of negative views around it, was pretty cool.

I got a free poster, they had a nice little camera area where we could take pictures, and they gave us free popcorn and sodas, which was really nice. There was reserved seating for VIPs, and the rest of us took available spots, so I had to go all the way up to the top, which was perfectly fine. I was able to see both episodes, which was pretty cool.

They made it clear that recording was not allowed, though I could take pictures of the free poster beforehand, which you can probably see on my socials. Overall, I had a pretty good experience. The seats reclined, making it even more enjoyable.

The main show centers around the mysterious murder of a Jedi. A Jedi is murdered, and the Jedi Order sends an investigator to figure out who did it. It’s kind of like a crime scene investigation, and it all centers around one girl. You get to see whether she did it, whether she didn’t, and if there’s a larger mystery behind the murders. It’s kind of like Sherlock Holmes, but set in the Star Wars universe. You have to follow what happens to the characters closely.

Since it is a crime thriller, my suggestion to viewers is to pay attention to every detail, every story, and every character that pops in and out. Remember their names, as they may come back and provide more details about the crime scene and what happened. Each episode will give you more information about the crime and what is going to happen next. Obviously, because I only saw the first two episodes, I don’t know how it ends, but I look forward to watching each episode and seeing how they solve the mystery of the murdered Jedi and who did it.

That’s basically a basic review for people who haven’t seen it and may not be interested in it yet. I liked the first two episodes and definitely look forward to seeing more on Disney+. It was a great experience getting to see it in theaters with surround sound in Dolby. I definitely enjoyed it.
