Just went to the Her Universe fashion show. I have to say, I really enjoyed it last year at Comic-Con, 2023 was my first time ever attending the show. The reason I attended this year was to experience it at the convention level. I was definitely excited to experience it at the Comic-Con convention. It was honestly really great, and I definitely enjoyed it.
First and foremost, I loved the 10-year anniversary special they had, honoring all the people who had been there from the beginning. Ashley shared the story of how she put Her Universe together, and seeing the team that really put everything together behind the scenes was amazing. They were honored and represented, which I think is so precious.
It was also great to hear from past contestants, mentioning how much the whole Her Universe community has helped them grow. Seeing where they are now and how many opportunities have opened up for them since then was really wonderful.
Another highlight was Barbie. The whole thing mainly centered on her. They also had Monster High and other games, but Barbie was the main focus. I thought it was really positive the way they brought out the representation of Barbie, explaining how much she influences and what she represents in a positive light. Seeing a lot of costume designs was just so amazing.
Honestly, overall, I think it’s a great fashion show. However, be prepared to arrive on time because there is limited space in the room. I definitely understood the giveaways too, which were really great. Overall, I definitely enjoyed it.
