Meg 2: The Trench review

“Meg to the Trench” turned out to be unexpectedly entertaining. I admit I didn’t catch the first movie in theaters because it failed to grab my attention. However, later on, I streamed it at home and found it to be just okay, with a few jokes here and there for entertainment. When I heard about a sequel, my initial thought was that it’s just another cash grab. Despite my reservations, there wasn’t much else playing in theaters at the time, so I decided to give it a shot.

To my surprise, I found “Meg to the Trench” to be a significant improvement over the original. It offered more engaging entertainment, a stronger plot, and better-developed characters. The humor seemed to land better, and it didn’t take itself too seriously, which was refreshing. While some elements, like the clichéd romance, felt unnecessary, overall, the movie was quite entertaining. I also appreciated the subtle environmental message about saving the oceans without being overly preachy or intrusive.

All in all, if you’re looking for a lighthearted, mindless movie that provides a good laugh and enjoyable entertainment, I would definitely recommend giving “Meg to the Trench” a watch. On my scale, I’d rate it a 7 out of 10. I genuinely think the second installment surpasses the first, so even if you haven’t seen the original, you could still enjoy the sequel.
