A while back I had maybe two makeup brushes that I had bought from Walmart. Now, they were great and I would recommend them for anyone on a budget. Makeup is meant to be fun and with any makeup brush you can make yourself look the way you want to look. After thoughts brushes were practically breaking, I made the choices to purchase new brushes. I purchased the E.L.F. Cosmetics 19 piece brush collection at Ulta beauty during the holiday sale and when I had a 20% off coupon. It was a great price and I was happy to finally have more then two makeup brushes.
Pros
I personally liked all the brushes in the set. I am not a pro makeup artist and just someone who loves makeup and loves getting to try new makeup looks. I felt like in this set I got all the brushes I needed. Also, the brushes are not falling apart they are pretty strong.
Cons
They are hard to clean. Maybe this is just me. But I buy makeup brush cleaner from Ulta Beauty and I still find myself really scrubbing to clean the brushes.
I like the E.L.F. Cosmetics 19 piece brush collection I believe that they are great brushes for someone who is just starting out with makeup.
What is your favorite makeup brush set?

have you tried washing the brushes with a bar of Marseille soap?
Its great that you’re loving having more brushes to hand. To clean mine, I find baby shampoo works better than a lot of brush cleaners and is cheaper too.
Thanks for this helpful post. It’s nice to see an honest review, and especially appreciate the comments about cleaning.
It’s great that you like them all, I find there’s always at least one in a set that I don’t really like/ use. It’s a bit odd that they’re so hard to clean though!
I’ve never been a big makeup person and always only had one or two brushes myself.. or I would just ended up using my finger haha. I never knew which brushes to get.. there’s just sooo many! I’ll definitely take a look at you recommendations though. Thanks!
I have a solid set of brushes that I purchased six years ago (haha) but yes, it gets hard to clean. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
I’m surprised that there are 19 different make-up brushes in the first place, if I was asked to guess, I would have put the maximum at five, maybe even three. What are the 19 different brush types even used for?
Thanks for sharing! I’ve gotta check it out as I’ve been looking for some! Though they are definitely hard to clean afterwards!
I probably should get some makeup brush cleaner. I always end up just using soap and water.
It’s a shame they’re hard to clean but this looks like a great brush set! Fab review x
thanks for such a thorough review! ah i hate cleaning brushes – but baby shampoo has been the solution for me! Great post!x
I usually use warm water with a little baby shampoo and that does the job.
I appreciate you sharing lesser expensive products especially when on a tight budget. I wouldn’t like if the brushes were not easy to clean. Thank you for this post. 😊
I sometimes buy ELF make up because it is cruelty free – it’s also really cheap. Good to hear about the brushes.
I use baby shampoo and make up brush cleaner to clean my make brushes. It works for me but if this brushes are hard to clean, then it’s a shame as they look really awesome
Sounds like a good set of brushes, well, except the cleaning part, that is a shame. I don’t have a favourite brushset, while I would love to do more make-up, I just haven’t found the time to do so (and with COVID around no need for make-up). For now I just bought what was available at a good price. Haha.
Great post. I have been looking for some new makeup brushes. I will look into these. Thank you for the recommendation.
It’s hard to wash brushes so I don’t often do it haha. It could also be the brush cleaner at fault, might have to try a different kind.

This was a super helpful post as I was curious about those brushes. Back in college, I used to use elf brushes but the quality was so bad. So I’m glad you did an honest review.
Also regarding cleaning them, try use the “oil” then “baby shampoo” method (https://www.popsugar.com/beauty/How-Clean-Makeup-Brushes-24424735). Works for any type of stubborn brush hair!
It’s a shame they’re hard to clean but I’m glad you like them overall!

I love ELF cosmetics. Never used their brushes. Will check them out! Thanks!
I like E.L.F. Cosmetics most of the time too. Usually, their prices can’t be beat! But sometimes I like to splurge on more expensive items too depending on what they are.

I like E.L.F. because they are affordable, but if you’re having trouble cleaning the brushes I recommend using a brush cleansing egg. You wet your brushes, put your cleanser on them then rub them over the egg. At least for me, the egg helps clean the brushes faster & more effectively!
very use and informative article
