I watched the original movie of “The Color Purple” when I was younger, finding it exceptionally well-done despite the sadness of the story. Recently, I heard great things about the remake and decided to give it a watch. The new version lives up to the praise – the acting is superb, and while the storyline remains the same, the remake is exceptionally well-made. I’d recommend both versions; they each have their strengths, and I appreciated the differences in the characters. It’s a poignant film, and I found myself tearing up while watching. The music and songs contribute to its overall excellence. In summary, it’s a moving and well-crafted movie.
