Into The Meta Quest Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Disney Springs

This past Saturday, I went to Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida. Currently, there are multiple advertisements from Meta on TV, social media, and print asking people to try out the Metaverse for free. Meta (formally known as Facebook) partnered with Star Wars. Personally, I thought it was a good idea to get people to try out the Metaverse. You have to sign up now. Walk-ups are welcome, but you will have to wait a little bit. I and a few others all registered ahead of time online. The one thing I did not like was that you had to arrive there in person to get the link with a QR code to register. On top of this, you just had to memorize your appointment time. You did not receive an email, text, or call telling you that your group had been called to try out the Metaverse. A little confusing. A few people I saw just didn’t sign up due to the hassle. I think they personally could have made the process easier. Also, everyone who goes to Disney Springs knows the wifi is terrible there. It took a few minutes just to try to sign up and register. It is kind of disappointing. When it finally came time for our group to be called, we went back to the Meta building in Disney Springs. You should give the worker your boarding pass and you are in. The worker was kind and told us a background story about the Star Wars mission we were about to go on. Then we had to wait in about a 20-minute line while two people were taken at a time into the pod. The pod was basically a room with a Star Wars poster, the Meta headset, and controllers with an employee to guide us. One at a time, we were guided into a big white circle, and there we put on our headsets. I have to say I was nervous because I had never been in the Metaverse before, but I was also excited because it was Star Wars. Our group was called in the evening. I was tired from being out all day in the Florida sun and it had been raining off and on all day. Because of being so tired and nervous, I did the mission wrong, but I did get the full 8 minutes. If you do have motion sickness, this could affect you because you do feel very immersed in the world of Star Wars. It amazing how clear the picture/video is and how realistic everything is. Personally, if the Meta is the future it’s pretty cool. I personally would recommend that you can go check it out.
