Recently, Disney+ released a new film entitled Rise. When I first saw the trailer, it captured my attention as I was unaware of the background story of NBA 2019 MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. The movie not only tells Gianni’s story of how the Milwaukee Bucks drafted him, but it also tells the story of his parents’ leaving Nigeria and moving to Greece. It’s a touching story that had me in tears. I loved how the movie portrayed a sad story and made it positive without being unrealistic. I enjoyed how the movie showed his brothers and how they were drafted into the NBA. Personally, I think this movie is a great family night movie.
