Another Wattpad book adaptation that I definitely want to check out! I found this one through social media, but I didn’t read the original story on Wattpad, so I went into the movie with an open mind, knowing it was based on a Wattpad story. I took my time to watch the movie and had several thoughts afterward.
First and foremost, the story centers around our main character, who is about to graduate from high school and is preparing to attend the college of her dreams. During this time, her sister, who is a soldier, is getting married, and she is helping with the wedding preparations. She has also had a crush on a classmate, who is a close family friend. However, this guy has shown interest in another girl, who happens to be a bit of a bully and has been unkind to the main character, creating a tense dynamic between them.
At one point, the main character orders a milkshake at a local spot and notices an ad for a boot camp. Wanting to escape all the drama and focus on herself, she asks her family to sign her up. Once at the boot camp, she starts to envision herself as an archer, like Robin Hood, and hopes to learn more about herself and her health. However, when she arrives, she finds that the girl who bullied her is also attending. Despite wanting to leave, her parents insist that it’s too late to back out, so she stays.
At first, she struggles to get into the spirit of the camp, but eventually, she is paired with a trainer who helps guide her on her fitness and personal growth journey. As the story progresses, she starts to fall for her trainer. Meanwhile, there are still unanswered questions about her sister’s wedding, the guy she used to have a crush on, and her own personal development.
I don’t want to give away too many details, but overall, I thought it was a really cute and enjoyable movie. I would definitely watch it again and recommend it to others!
