The Devil Wears Prada is one of those movies that still feels relevant years later, especially for anyone who has worked in a corporate environment. While I enjoyed parts of the film, I definitely found myself liking the first half much more than the second half.
What I appreciated most about the movie was how accurately it showed workplace politics, pressure, networking, and the struggle of trying to succeed in a demanding career. The film does a good job of showing how people can lose themselves while chasing success, trying to maintain connections, and figuring out when it is time to move on from unhealthy situations.
The fashion aspect of the movie was also a huge highlight. It reminded me that fashion can be creative, exciting, and expressive, while also being taken very seriously in professional environments.
At the same time, I personally struggled with some of the character dynamics. Miranda, while iconic, was difficult for me to fully like because of how harsh and emotionally draining she could be. I also felt like the movie tried too hard at times to make certain characters appear more sympathetic than they actually were. Some scenes felt a little cheesy or overdramatic, even though other moments were genuinely strong.
Overall, I think the movie is worth watching, especially if you enjoy fashion films or workplace dramas. Just do not go into it expecting a perfect movie. For me, it was entertaining, stylish, and relatable in some ways, but also frustrating in others.
