**Taking a Short Break…**
Honestly, I need a short break from social media after all the craziness. I can’t believe that because I shared something personal—something I’ve experienced for over 20 years—it has affected my job, career, personal life, family, and school. I purposely didn’t generalize at all; I just said that this is something that happened to me and that we, as a community, should stop this behavior. I’m surprised it hasn’t been acknowledged and that we, as human beings, should do better.
I was called horrible names and treated terribly because of this. I just want to take a break because I can’t believe how much I really thought that, in 2024, people would be more open-minded to learning, growing, and promoting equality. But apparently, there’s still work to do. Honestly, next time, I don’t know if I’m going to share such personal things online. It’s sad because people only want to see through a certain lens or image, and only what makes them feel good. It’s even more disappointing that the person who called me disrespectful and even racist later said, “I’m sorry that my community has done this.” It’s sad that someone can say, “I’m sorry you went through that,” yet still argue that you’re wrong. That’s not really an apology.
Because of this, I want to take a short break, and I don’t know when I’ll be coming back.

Apology and Clarification
I want to start by sincerely apologizing to anyone who felt hurt or offended by my recent blog post about my experiences growing up in a predominantly Hispanic community. It was never my intention to spread hate or come across as a racist or bigot. I deeply regret that my words may have caused pain, and I understand why some people may have felt that way.
I shared my story to shed light on the real pain and struggles I have faced as a mixed-race Black person. The discrimination, favoritism, and racism I experienced were incredibly difficult for me and have shaped who I am today. These experiences left a lasting impact, and I wanted to be open about them to foster understanding and awareness.
However, I realize now that in expressing my hurt and frustration, I may have generalized or made statements that seemed to target an entire community unfairly. For that, I am truly sorry. It was not my intention to paint all Hispanics with the same brush or to diminish anyone else’s experiences. I recognize that there are good people in every community who treat others with kindness and respect.
I still believe it is important to speak up against the favoritism and racism I experienced, but I also recognize the need to communicate my feelings in a way that does not harm or stereotype others. I want to make it clear that I am not a racist or a bigot, as some have labeled me. My intention was to share my personal story, not to attack an entire community.
I hope this apology helps clarify my position, and I am open to further discussion and learning on how to better express myself without causing harm. Thank you for listening, and I hope we can all work towards understanding and empathy.
Sincerely,
Headphonesthoughts
