I recently watched “Dashing Through the Snow” on Disney+, the original Disney+ movie, as part of my Christmas movie lineup this year. I thoroughly enjoyed the film—the comedy was genuinely funny, and the overall tone was sweet and wholesome, making it an ideal family movie. I recommend it for those seeking a brief yet delightful Christmas film.
One standout aspect for me was Santa’s character, who not only provided humor but also displayed intelligence. The film cleverly portrayed Santa’s awareness of others’ thoughts and future events, deviating from the conventional portrayal where Santa knows everything. I appreciated the main character’s journey in overcoming childhood fears and the realization that he unintentionally mirrored his past pain onto his daughter. The resolution, where he acknowledged his mistake, allowed the family to come together, forgive, and celebrate Christmas in a heartwarming manner.
Additionally, the film took a unique approach with the reindeer, portraying them as bodyguards rather than the traditional role assigned to elves. The incorporation of reindeer jokes added a humorous touch, contributing to the film’s charm. The scenes of Santa fighting enemies were particularly amusing and added an extra layer of entertainment.
In conclusion, “Dashing Through the Snow” is a cute and funny Christmas movie that I wholeheartedly recommend for a pleasant, family-friendly holiday viewing experience.
