I didn’t know much about her journey to becoming the first female boxer to win a gold medal in London during the 2012 Olympics. This groundbreaking achievement was something I felt should have been celebrated more.
She comes from Flint, Michigan, a city known for its struggles, yet she worked tirelessly to uplift her community while pursuing her dream of being the best in the world. The movie does an excellent job of portraying her perseverance, passion, and resilience.
