My Experience Using Bumble BFF

Bumble is mostly known as a dating app, but recently I decided to try the Bumble BFF feature to make new friends, and honestly, it has been an interesting experience so far.

To be clear, I have made friends naturally throughout different stages of my life — through school, church, work, the gym, and even places I regularly visit around town. However, over time, especially after the pandemic and different personal struggles, I realized I had slowly lost touch with many people.

Working a typical 9-to-5 schedule can sometimes feel repetitive and isolating. For me, life started becoming a cycle of work, exhaustion, errands, gym visits, occasional movies, and then repeating the same routine all over again. Even though I was technically staying busy, I realized I still felt lonely at times and wanted more meaningful social connections outside of work.

One thing I have personally learned is that I prefer keeping my work life and personal life separate. I like being professional at work, doing my job, and then going home without mixing too much of my personal world into the workplace.

That is what led me to try Bumble BFF. So far, I actually like the idea of being able to meet people in my community and have conversations before deciding whether you connect as friends. It feels nice talking to people outside of work and remembering that there is more to life than just surviving the workweek.

Of course, like anything online, people should still be cautious and use good judgment when meeting others. But overall, I think the app has been a positive experience for me so far, and I am excited to continue seeing where it goes.
